Getting started: create your account and set up

From opening Classmate AI for the first time to landing on your Home screen. It takes about 10 minutes, and you only do it once.

Before you start, keep ready

  • An email inbox you can open now
  • Your board (CBSE or ICSE) and class (8, 9 or 10)
  • A parent nearby who can read you a code from their email

Sign up with your email

Classmate AI uses a 6-digit code instead of a password. The same steps also log you back in later.

What to do

  1. 1Go to classmateai.in and tap Start free (or Log in).
  2. 2Tap Continue with Email and type your email address.
  3. 3Open the email from Classmate AI and type the 6-digit code into the app.
Note · Your account is created only when you enter the code. If you leave before that, nothing is saved; just start again.

If something goes wrong

No code? Check Spam or Promotions and wait a minute before asking for a new one. Parents sign in at the parent login, not here.

Your name, board and class

Three quick screens. Classy uses your board and class to show only your syllabus chapters.

What to do

  1. 1Type your name and continue.
  2. 2Choose CBSE or ICSE.
  3. 3Choose Class 8, 9 or 10. Use Back if you picked the wrong one.
Tip · Pick the class you're in now, not the one you're preparing for next year.

If something goes wrong

Your board and class can't be changed from your profile once you've finished setting up, because your whole plan is built from them. Picked the wrong one? Email contact@classmateai.in from your registered email and we'll fix it.

Add and verify a parent's email

On the class screen you also add one parent's email. We send them a code to make sure the address is right, so they can follow your progress in Classmate Co-pilot.

What to do

  1. 1Type your parent's email and tap Send code.
  2. 2Ask your parent for the 6-digit code from their inbox and type it in, then tap Verify.
  3. 3Optionally choose Mother, Father or Guardian, then Continue.
Note · You can't use your own email here. Continue unlocks only after the parent's email is verified.
Parent · Once setup is finished, we email your parent an invite to Classmate Co-pilot. The Parent guide explains what they see.

If something goes wrong

Parent didn't get the code? Check their spam folder, then tap Send code again.

A short warm-up to find your starting point, so your first lessons are neither too easy nor too hard.

  1. 1Answer each question as well as you can; it's fine to be unsure.
  2. 2Tap Next after each answer.
  3. 3Wait a moment while Classy gets your dashboard ready.
Note · This isn't a test and you won't see a score. Your reports start clean and fill up as you study.

If something goes wrong

Questions not loading? Check your internet connection and reopen the app; you'll continue from the warm-up.

Your 7-day trial

Every new student account gets 7 days of Premium free. This screen shows what's included and the date your trial ends.

  2. 2Tap Start my first mission to go to Home.
Note · No card is needed for the trial. When it ends you move to the Free plan automatically; nothing is charged.

The app tour

The first time you reach Home, a guided tour points out every tab and card, with what each is for.

  1. 1Read each tip and tap → to move on.
  2. 2Some steps ask you to tap the highlighted button.
  3. 3Skip any time; reopen the tour later from its launcher.
Tip · The tour continues inside your first lesson, first doubt and first test, so you see those screens explained too.

If something goes wrong

Tour didn't start? Open it from the tour launcher at the bottom-left of Home.
